Chris Dawson

"The Queue"

Acrylic paint, vinyl, heat, pva glue  - 5m x 6m

(Fine art mural installed March 2019)

Chris Dawson’s abstract expressionism, is an escape into new worlds. A reminder that the world we see is just one interpretation of the matter in front of us. Each work, with its seemingly topographic details appears to be intent on alluding to moments in dimensions beyond this one.

Reflective of the same language one may find in volcanic regions or the sea shores, but equally reminiscent of dreamscapes, what Dawson does is explore the tension between our imagined world and the real, without leading the viewer.

We are allowed to enter into a free associative play with these canny landscapes, through an abstract lens.
